The First Listings On Realtor.com

It is a long story discussed in another post, but the first listings on REALTOR.com were from the MLS in San Diego, Sandicor. Permission was loosely based on a contract RealSelect/HomeSelect had with Sandicor for electronic display of listings supplied by the MLS, on Kiosks in drug stores around San Diego County.

Austin, Texas was my first stop to attempt to convince MLSs that listings on the Internet made sense. This was such a new concept, we had not yet developed the data license contract.

After meeting with the Austin BOD, I received email from David Foster, the AOR Executive Officer and on September 5, 1995, Bill Stanberry, AOR President, signed the first REALTOR.com data agreement, agreeing to pay to have listings displayed on the Internet.
